Yesterday, although sunny part of the time, we had a cooler wind blowing so we needed fleeces on. The track took us close to the beach at times and here last month's storm had thrown the pebbles up into a high bank. When we reached the town, there was a lot of work going on relocating the sand back to the beach there. We ate our picnic on the prom
then went behind the buildings to see the nature reserve - looking rather bleak, but as we walked to the right of this viewpoint, we could hear some very noisy frogs chatting away to each other. they were amongst the reeds, but we couldn't see them at all.
We found the local geocaches too - this one was clever - John pulled out a loose stick from the tree and a small red canister was dangling from the end of it!
En route home, was a neglected field of fruit trees. They look like oranges, but are very small. The branches are very thorny. Would like to know what they are.
Today has been a warm and sunny chill-out day, just messing about around the site. But did do a bit of washing, finished the Scout Exec. minutes that I never had time to do before we came away and finished a good book. John took the kitchen tap apart and cleaned the spout filter (the flow was getting slow), gave the loo a spring clean and cooked a very tasty risotto for dinner - he did have a wash in between!

I passed on your message to everyone at RC and Sarah had had a message from Dave and Ann from Australia.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying the sunshine, we are battening down the hatches again as Storm Dennis is due this weekend! xx
Down in Cornwall now, where it is not so sunny! In fact the weather has deteriorated the further west we travelled. I think it is going to be an indoor weekend, though I will try to get up for Tilly's swimming lesson, at 8.30am followed by dancing at 9.30! We have been invited to Joy and Nigel's for Sunday lunch after Church so do have some engagements! It's not looking hopeful for Monday though, it might have to be the indoor crazy golf in Plymouth again! Glad you're having fun. xx
