Cycle ride to the lighthouse

Another beautiful morning yesterday (Monday 10th February) to do a bit more sight-seeing, so we set off on our bikes to Alcossebre.
Dot - if you are reading this, then please do not read the next sentence.....
John was wanting to look for 2.5mm compression ferrules and a compression tool in the hope of solving the problem of our fridge not working while travelling, so the perfect place to look was in the Chinese Bazaars - all 3 of them!  They are the kind of places that their frontage is virtually just a doorway, but the shops go on for ever behind, selling just about everything from food to tools, bras to shoes, buckets & spades to a Father Christmas outfit!  Unfortunately, none of them had the items John was looking for, but the problem was solved later (see today's news).
So we continued along the seafront

till after about 4 miles, we reached the very end of the town and its rather ugly lighthouse.  With just some fishermen on the end of the rocks, we had our picnic by this little rocky cove with its crystal clear water.

Beyond this point is just a footpath, we locked up the bikes and walked on for another mile or so.
Mostly the plants are rough scrub and bushes, but in between these lovely miniature irises.
On the way back towards the lighthouse.
And on the way back past the Alcossebre marina.
Sometimes on the campsite we've noticed a blue van (French registration) advertising Caravan Repairs.  The owner is in fact, English, and a wizz at sorting out everybody's problems.  Trevor next door to us had a problem with a cupboard in his caravan and Chris was there on our return this afternoon.  John seized the opportunity to ask him if he happened to have on board, the items needed.  He didn't, but said he'd call round about 5 tomorrow with them.

Today has been even hotter, so it called for a very lazy morning - the only interesting thing was that I gave John a No.4 - haircut that is!!  An afternoon stroll by the sea gave us our exercise for the day.

We hadn't been back long when the familiar blue van pulled up by our pitch, Chris produced the required items and John successfully made the changes to the 12 volt distribution board - no charge.  When we do get moving again in the van, the fridge will be working again.
